Pro-Cut suggests that Fleet managers and service providers looking to increase profitability and reduce downtime during brake service on heavy-duty vehicles should repair rotors rather than replace them. With the award-winning Pro-Cut X1 HD On-Truck Brake Lathe, repair facilities will earn back their return on investment and increase productivity and profitability.
“Heavy-duty vehicles can have multiple brake systems, and new rotors can cost hundreds of dollars each and take hours to replace,” said Jeff Hastings, president of Pro-Cut. “Installing new rotors on heavy-duty vehicles is hard work, time-consuming, and expensive. The X1 brake lathe machines the rotor in about 30 minutes, saving the cost of a replacement rotor and hours of vehicle downtime.”
The Pro-Cut X1 is powered by a 48V DC variable-speed motor capable of turning large vehicle axles. Its low-range gearbox provides ample torque, while adjustable tool arms and a 190-mm feed screw allow technicians to match-machine the largest rotors in the industry. It features separate speed and feed controls, along with everything needed to machine the rotors without removing them from the hub.
