Luverne, a manufacturer of truck, commercial van, and SUV accessories, expanded its van fleet line with the Impact shock-absorbing rear bumper step and the Grip Step XL 9-1/2” running board. Both products are engineered to help cargo van drivers and business owners enhance the safety, confidence, and cost-efficiency of their work, according to the company.
The Impact shock-absorbing rear bumper step is a reinforced steel bumper equipped with spring-loaded shocks integrated into the mounting brackets. The bumper is ideal for delivery vans and other work vans that frequently back into loading areas. As the van backs up, the bumper is designed to protect it against collisions with guard rails, pylons, or even other vehicles, absorbing impacts up to 5 mph and saving the vehicle from frame damage.

The Impact bumper also has an integrated stepping surface to give the driver safe, ergonomic access to the rear cargo area. The expanded metal treads on top of the bumper are the same used on our best-selling Grip Step running boards, providing fleet-grade traction in a variety of weather conditions.

The all-new Grip Step XL running board is likewise an optimized asset for commercial vans and fleets. Inspired by Luverne's Grip Step 7-inch running boards, Grip Step XL features the same high-traction, expanded metal treads. However, these new boards offer an ultra-wide stepping surface of 9-1/2-inches. Also, the boards are made from reinforced steel, instead of aluminum. Even with their impressive 9-1/2-inch width, the steel boards won’t flex or bend.
Grip Step XL running boards are available in single-board applications for various cargo van makes and models (passenger-side only). The Impact bumper is also available for select vans with more applications on the way.
