The expo hall at the annual NAFA Institute & Expo, held this year in Anaheim, Calif., provided an abundance of innovative products and services designed to create more efficient fleets.

“Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology” (BOLT ) is now the only lock used in handle assemblies on all Royal Truck Body models and is standard across Royal’s entire product line. BOLT locks are opened using a single ignition key, which is permanently programmed the first time it is inserted into the lock cylinder. From then on, only that uniquely coded ignition key can lock or unlock any of the compartment doors on a service body as well as any other BOLT Locks used on toolboxes, trailer hitches, ladder racks, or other items. Royal Truck Body is also offering BOLT locks for retrofit on models dating back to 2007.

The removable lift gate models from LiftGator attach to the hitch receiver on a commercial van or truck and draws power from the 7-pin trailer connector. LiftGator XTR (for trucks) and VLG (for vans) models offer the flexibility to install and use a 1,300-lb. capacity lift gate when necessary, and to remove and store it when not needed. No truck modifications are required, and the vehicle can be driven with the lift gate attached. Installation takes fewer than three minutes.

DECKED truck and van storage systems are designed with a 2,000-lb. system payload and a 200-lb. payload rating per drawer. Each system weighs between 200 lbs. and 220 lbs., reducing impacts to fuel economy or payload capacity compared to heavier systems. DECKED drawers slide tools and supplies at waist height.
