With the certification of five networks, electronic acceptance of the Wright Express Universal Fleet card is growing for vehicle service, maintenance and parts, according to Craig Day, vice president of merchant development for Wright Express. “We’re working hard to convert from telephonic to electronic acceptance,” Day said. “Because this is such an important program for our fleets, we began the program and supported it telephonically until we could certify the electronic networks.” To date, Wright Express has certified the following networks for its automotive aftercare program: Bank of America, Paymentech, Concord EFS, Alliance Data Systems (ADS) and Global Payment Systems. The company conducts extensive end-to-end testing of each network to ensure data integrity and accuracy. “Our certification of five more of the top 10 networks is in progress,” Day said. “From these networks we make the connection to POS devices at individual sites. Our card’s electronic acceptance is growing all the time as we bring on more sites.” Because Wright Express settles directly to each participating merchant, sites that want to accept the WEX card can choose to use any of these networks. “We’re bringing the Wright Express tradition of real-time authorizations, accurate and timely data reporting to the automotive aftercare industry,” Day said. Wright Express provides fleet charge card programs to more than 180,000 commercial and government car, van and truck fleets in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The Wright Express Universal Fleet card is honored at more than 160,000 fueling and vehicle service sites, including many vehicle maintenance and parts stores, with 99.5 percent of all fuel transactions captured electronically. Wright Express also delivers information processing, financial and information management services through private label fleet fueling programs for 29 North American oil companies and has cobranded fleet cards with 27 partners, including the major commercial vehicle leasing companies and vehicle service providers. About Wright Express Wright Express employs more than 650 people primarily at its headquarters in South Portland, Maine, and at Wright Express Financial Services Corporation in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wright Express, an equal opportunity employer, is owned by Cendant Corporation, a diversified global provider of business and consumer services primarily within the real estate and travel sectors.
