The companies say the resulting turn-by-turn database will be available to power applications and services within the Navigation, Telematics and Location Based Services markets. The Tele Atlas comprehensive POI database can be tailored to offer any specific POI categories to meet any customer needs. Both urban and rural POIs are included in the database product. According to the companies, Navigation and Telematics devices equipped with Tele Atlas powered map databases can locate hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs and a myriad of other businesses.
