Seco-Larm U.S.A, Inc., on Sept. 26 unveiled its new Enforcer 640 Plus vehicle security system. According to the company, the four-channel remote control alarm combines the latest in security technology and wireless convenience in one small, easy-to-install, and fully configurable package. The company further claims that authorized Seco-Larm dealers will find the Enforcer 640 Plus easy to install. The miniature alarm brain fits the tightest spaces, yet offers on-board relays to control door lock/unlock, flashing parking lights, domelight supervision, and second channel output. The seven-function LED allows quick trouble-shooting by lighting to show RF reception and triggered zones. The alarm has 13 programmable functions, including chirp or no chirp, quiet chirp, door lock/unlock timing, and Automatic Starter Disable. Full security and convenience features, including a remote starter-friendly output, includes five on-board relays for fast installations sound and the parking lights flash immediately if someone opens a door, pries open the hood or trunk, or sets off the patented dual-stage shock sensor with separate zone adjustments. However, if the shock sensor is triggered multiple times, the alarm can be programmed to ignore such nuisance triggers. The Automatic Starter Disable function can be set to automatically disable the starter, even if users forget to arm their alarm. The two included remote transmitters, with four iconbased buttons and an LED that is visible only when a button is pressed, are among the thinnest, lightest remotes available anywhere. Even so, they control the Enforcer 640 Plus convenience and security features from up to 200 feet away. An optional extended range antenna increases that range to up to 1,000 feet. Up to four remotes with CodeBump anti-codegrabbing technology can be learned, and all old transmitter codes are deleted when new codes are learned to prevent the use of lost or stolen remotes. The company says remotes can be used to lock and unlock the doors even while driving, arm and disarm the unit, “pop” open the trunk, delete the siren chirps, and bypass zones or sensors if needed. When the unit is disarmed, the doors are unlocked automatically, and the vehicle’s interior lights turn on for 30 seconds to make the vehicle easy to find at night.
