Vehicles: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L
Potential Units Affected: 7,198
Component: Electrical system
Breakdown: A software error in the instrument panel cluster may cause the speedometer to display the incorrect vehicle speed.
Solution: Dealers will inspect and update the instrument panel cluster software as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 17, 2024.

Vehicles: 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango
Potential Units Affected: 206,502
Component: Service brakes, hydraulic
Breakdown: A malfunction in the antilock-brake system (ABS) module may incorrectly illuminate the brake lights and disable the ABS and electronic stability control (ESC). In addition, the vehicle operator may be able to start and shift out of Park without the brake pedal being applied.
Solution: The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 5, 2024.

Component: Fuel system, gasoline
Breakdown: The fuel vapor line bracket may have insufficient clearance to the fuel vapor line, which can result in fuel vapor line damage that can lead to a fuel vapor leak.
Solution: Dealers will inspect for a fuel vapor line bracket and install a tie strap to secure the fuel vapor line to the bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Nov. 20, 2024.

Component: Engine and engine cooling
Breakdown: The engines may have a misaligned engine cup plug, which can result in a rapid oil leak.
Solution: Dealers will inspect the engine cup plug alignment, and replace the plug if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 2, 2024.

Breakdown: These vehicles may be missing the required rear vision camera video display because an incorrect inside rearview mirror was installed.
Solution: Dealers will inspect and replace the inside rearview mirror as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 30, 2024.

Vehicles: 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500, 2021 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with diesel engines.

Breakdown: The transmission control valve may fail and cause the rear wheels to lock-up.
Solution: Dealers will install new transmission control module software, free of charge. GM will provide a special coverage program to cover the repair of transmissions that are identified by the remedy software as containing a defective control valve. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 9, 2024.
Rivian
Recall Number: FSAM-1552
Vehicles: 2025 R1T and R1S

Component: Electrical system, exterior lighting
Breakdown: Software version 2024.39.30 may prevent certain exterior lights from turning on when the Car Costume feature is activated.
Solution: Rivian has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 18, 2024.
Tesla

Breakdown: A fault in the drive inverter may cause a loss of drive power to the wheels.

Breakdown: The crane outrigger shoes may have been improperly manufactured, which can cause them to crack and fail under load, reducing the cranes stability.

Breakdown: Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working.

Breakdown: An insufficient amount of lubricant in the front steer drive (FSD) axle hubs may result in damage to the wheel bearings.
