Quick Fuel Opens Its First Automated Fueling Station in Florida; Designed to Lower Fleet Fuel Costs
Quick Fuel Fleet Services has announced the opening of its first automated commercial fleet fueling station in the state of Florida, located at 9699 Sidney Hayes Road, just west of the Orlando International Airport. The Orlando station is the first of several future Quick Fuel stations planned for central and southern Florida, according to company officials. Built in the middle of a growing industrial and commercial corridor, the new unattended facility enables fleets to fuel faster than they would at traditional retail stations, lowering fleets' bottom line fuel costs and increasing their efficiency, according to Quick Fuel officials. Quick Fuel says its stations speed up the fueling process because drivers activate dispensers with proprietary fuel cards and never have to wait in line to pay. In addition, Quick Fuel facilities are designed exclusively for large commercial vehicles with wide fueling lanes, high speed dispensers, and easy access from major trucking routes. Drivers can fuel quickly and then promptly return to serving customers, according to Quick Fuel. About Quick Fuel Quick Fuel pioneered the concept of automated fleet fueling in Wisconsin in the mid-1980s. The demand for Quick Fuel's services grew rapidly following the deregulation of trucking and the implementation of stringent EPA underground storage tank regulations in the 1980s and 1990s, which forced fleets to look for ways to become more competitive. Today, Quick Fuel offers fleets a rapidly-expanding network of 45 fueling facilities in major cities throughout the Southeast and Midwest. The company recently formed a joint venture with Exxon Mobil Corporation, giving its customers access to state-of-the-art technology and a growing network of fueling sites.
