Nissan's full-size and compact vans will receive light updates for the 2016 model year, including additional air bags, technology, and exterior colors, Nissan has announced.
The Nissan NV cargo van, first introduced with the 2012 model year, adds supplemental front seat-mounted side-impact air bags and roof-mounted curtain side-impact air bags for front outboard occupant head protection as standard equipment. The NV will be available with a new exterior color called Cayenne Red. Midnight Garnet has been discontinued.
The NV cargo will again be offered in three models, including the NV1500, NV2500 HD, and NV3500 HD with standard or high roof. The vans will be available in September.
For 2016, the NV passenger van will offer the SL Technology Package as standard equipment on the SL grade. The package includes NissanConnect with navigation and mobile apps, a 5.8-inch color display, enhanced voice recognition for navigation and audio, hands-free text messaging assistant, streaming Bluetooth audio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a back-up camera.
The 2016 NV passenger van will get two new exterior colors, including Pear White and Cayenne Red. Midnight Garnet has been discontinued. The van is offered as the NV3500 HD S, NV3500 HD SV, and NV3500 HD SL. The vans will be available in September.
The NV200 compact cargo van will again be offered in S or SV models with the new exterior color Yellow Taxi. It will be available in January.
Nissan also plans to update its NV200 Taxi model for 2016, and plans to release more details closer to its January on-sale date.
