Michael Smith to the new position of chief operating officer. Robert Gray, the company's director of accounting and controller, was promoted to the new position of chief accounting officer. At the same time, Andrew Tillman, the company's interim chief executive officer, resigned to pursue other opportunities. Smith was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining the company in December 1998, Smith was vice president of finance and chief financial officer of TPN, Inc., a provider of digital satellite programming. He also served as director of finance and controller for AT&T Wireless Services, the nation's largest wireless communications service. Gray, who will serve as the company's principal financial officer, joined Minorplanet Systems USA in November 2001 as director of accounting and controller, where he managed all accounting and related financial operations. Prior to joining Minorplanet, he served as director of finance for Winfirst, a broadband telecommunications company, and controller for Akili Systems Group, a Dallas-based Internet systems integration company.
