Mercedes-Benz Introduces First Plug-In Hybrid C-Class
Mercedes-Benz has introduced its first plug-in hybrid C-Class in the U.S. with the 2015 C350 Plug-In Hybrid that will arrive at dealer lots in the fall, the automaker announced.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced its first plug-in hybrid C-Class in the U.S. with the 2015 C350 Plug-In Hybrid that will arrive at dealer lots in the fall, the automaker announced.
To power the vehicle, Mercedes-Benz paired a turbocharged 1.9-liter four-cylinder that generates 208 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque with an electric motor that outputs 80 hp and 251 lb.-ft. The vehicle can achieve a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.
The C-Class can reach a 20-mile range while operating in electric mode, and reach speeds of up to 80 miles per hour. The vehicle has not received an EPA fuel economy rating.
The vehicle uses a 7-speed automatic transmission with an additional clutch between the combustion engine and electric motor.
Mercedes-Benz now sells several battery-electric and hybrid vehicles in the U.S., including the Smart ForTwo Electric Drive, E400 Hybrid, and B-Class Electric Drive. The automaker will introduce the 2016 S550 Plug-In Hybrid in April.
