Honda Expands Product Line With New Truck Model
Honda takes the first step into the truck market.
Honda Motor Co. entered the truck market by introducing the 2006 Ridgeline mid-size pickup, according to the Associated Press.
The Ridgeline is set apart from others in its class with an 8.5-cubic-foot trunk under the vehicle's bed. With a drain, the trunk can even be filled with ice for tailgating purposes. The Ridgeline tailgate can open flat or swing open from the side.
The truck comes with a 3.5-liter, 255-horsepower V6 engine, can tow up to 5,000 pounds and gets the best fuel economy in its class with 21 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 miles per gallon in the city.
The Ridgeline goes on sale in March with a price between $27,000 and $30,000. Honda estimates it will sell around 50,000 trucks.
