A report from the Polk Company reveals that among auto reporters, manufacturers, suppliers and dealers, hands-free cell phones, online/satellite mapping or navigation systems and electronic or alternative fuel sources rank as the favorite vehicle product features. For the second year in a row, Polk Auto Trend Centers are being used to collect NAIAS attendee opinions throughout the 2001 show. Reports are issued on a regular basis, providing more in-depth analysis as the show progresses. By measuring these reactions, Polk says it will be able to determine both public and media sentiments regarding the auto makers, their products and the auto show in general. * Of all the vehicle product features considered, the majority of both media and automotive industry respondents are most interested in having a hands-free cell phone in their next vehicle so they can concentrate on driving while talking on the phone. * Online/satellite mapping or navigation systems, the top pick among both media and automotive industry respondents during last year's North American International Auto Show, ranks second among media respondents this year. * In comparison, electronic or alternative fuel source automobiles are the second most wanted product feature among industry respondents.
