GM Launches Campaign to Showcase Its Fleet Customers
The series highlights five different fleets: two commercial fleets, a nonprofit fleet and two government fleets.
General Motors has produced a series of videos that highlight its fleet customers and how they use the automaker’s vehicles.
According to GM, the customers “bring to life how GM vehicles impact their businesses and their bottom lines.” The series highlights five different fleets: two commercial fleets, a nonprofit fleet and two government fleets. You can view the videos below.
“Our mission is to provide great products, innovative business solutions and an exceptional customer experience,” said Ed Peper, U.S. VP, Fleet and Commercial Sales. “What better way to convey the benefits of our vehicles and the services we provide than having our customers tell their own stories?”
One fleet highlighted is utility company Pacific Gas & Electric, which uses the GMC Sierra Hybrid. According to GM, each truck travels an average of more than 15,000 miles per year. The hybrid powertrain helps the company save an average of more than $700 per vehicle on fuel costs, GM stated.
Other fleets highlighted include Meals on Wheels Ministry, located in Tyler, Texas, which is a nonprofit that distributes meals to 3,100 seniors and disabled individuals across six counties each day. The organization uses the GMC Savana cargo van in its fleet.
Another company, Oklahoma-based Gateway Services, which surveys and builds gas pipelines, uses the Chevrolet Silverado in its operations.
The two public-sector fleets highlighted include the City of Rock Hill, S.C. and the City of Hoover, Ala. Rock Hill uses the Volt, Silverado, Equinox, Caprice and Tahoe in its fleet. GM stated that city received the “Greenest Fleet” award in South Carolina in 2010. The use of alternative-fuel vehicles in its fleet helped reduce fuel use by 47,000 gallons of gasoline and saved the city $670,000 in 2011.
Hoover, Ala., uses the law enforcement edition of the Chevrolet Tahoe, the Tahoe PPV, in its fleet.
