Gordon Bethune, the former CEO and chairman of the Board credited for turning around ailing Continental Airlines, will address NAFA’s 2007 FMI-LEG Conference and Exposition on Sunday, May 6, 2007. Before Bethune arrived, Continental was considered the laughingstock of the airline industry in the United States. Under his leadership, the fifth largest airline turned itself around to become one of the most respected and reliable carriers in the industry. Bethune will highlight how he was able to accomplish this remarkable feat, and draw parallels to what the U.S. auto industry needs to do to right its woes. A book signing of Gordon Bethune’s book, From Worst to First: Behind the Scenes of Continental's Remarkable Comeback, will take place in the exhibit hall immediately following the presentation. The FMI-LEG Conference and Exposition will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, on May 5 – 8, 2007.
