Ford Reveals 2011 Super Duty at Texas State Fair
The 2011 F-Series Super Duty has all-new powertrains, led by the new Ford-built 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine.

Mark Fields, Ford's executive VP and president of the Americas, revealed Ford's new 2011 F- Series Super Duty pickup at the Texas State Fair today.
The 2011 F-Series Super Duty has all-new powertrains, led by the new Ford-built 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine, which has biodiesel compatibility up to B20. A new 6.2-liter V-8 gasoline engine also is added to the lineup. Both are mated to a new transmission.
Power numbers will be revealed later this year. "We've added more power," a Ford spokesman said. "We expect to be class leading with horsepower and torque."
Though towing and payload figures were also not yet available, "Towing capability has increased dramatically," said the spokesman. "Count on it to be best in class in both towing and payload."
Ford demonstrated the new diesel engine to be significantly quieter than the previous model.
When asked about the possibility of a diesel engine for the F-150, the spokesman said "Ford continues to evaluate the possibility but has no specific announcements planned."
Ford has plans to put the new Super Duty into the hands of fleet customers over the next six months, including Claude Masters of Florida Power & Light. On hand at the reveal, Masters called for the need for his vehicles to be reliable when providing emergency services in events such as hurricanes. The FP&L fleet runs entirely on biodiesel, Masters said.
The 2011 F-Series Super Duty will go on sale in early spring of 2010. Pricing has not yet been announced.
