Ford Mustang '15 Goes Global
Ford Motor Co.'s redesigned Mustang for 2015 includes three engines, including a more powerful V-8 and the first four-cylinder engine since the Mustang's 1993 model year. For the first time, it will be sold in Europe and Asia.

Ford Motor Co.'s redesigned Mustang for 2015 includes three engines, including a more powerful V-8 and the first four-cylinder engine since the Mustang's 1993 model year.
The sixth-generation Mustang, which was unveiled in six locations on four continents, also adds independent rear suspension. New styling includes the a lower, wider base and the return of the fastback roofline.
The Mustang has been a fairly strong component in car rental fleets. In calendar-year 2012, fleets registered 19,718 vehicles, including 19,295 by rental operators.
Ford is offering the new Mustang with three engine choices — a 5.0L V-8 in the Mustang GT, a 3.7L V-6, and the new 2.3L four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. The V-8 should deliver 420 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque, according to Ford.
The the first time, Ford will bring the Mustang to customers in parts of Europe and Asia, the automaker announced.
"We crafted this car with the goal of creating a contemporary interpretation of Mustang—an American automotive icon that symbolizes optimism and freedom for millions of people around the world," said Jim Farley, executive vice president of Ford global marketing, sales and service and Lincoln.
Ford is celebrating the Mustang's 50th anniversary in 2014. The first car was sold on April 17, 1964. The automaker has since sold 9 million Mustangs.
