Ford has added two models to its mid-size Fusion sedan lineup for 2017, including the V-6-powered Sport and top-line Premium models, adding twin-turbocharging and all-wheel drive as enhancements.
Ford will also update its Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi models with new software that delivers a more refined and engaging drive, while more efficient electric motors should improve fuel economy. Government fleets, including the City of Sacramento, have added these vehicles, according to a Ford spokeswoman.
The Fusion Platinum provides greater levels of refinement in a mid-size sedan that's powered by the 2.0L EcoBoost and includes all-wheel drive. Instrument and door trim panels are wrapped in antiqued Cocoa leather, and the hand-wrapped steering wheel is finished in premium Venetian leather. The vehicle also arrives with a unique grille finished in Magnetic paint and 19-inch polished wheels.
The Fusion Sport is a performance sedan unlike anything in the segment with a twin-turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V-6 delivering a projected 325 hp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. All-wheel-drive Fusion V-6 Sport is projected to make approximately 100 lb.-ft. of additional torque and nearly 50 more horsepower than the 3.5L V-6 engines in Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.
