Including an estimate for fleet deliveries into the dealer and manufacturer channel, we estimate that the remaining retail sales are up 5% year over year in July, leading to an estimated retail SAAR (seasonally adjusted annual rate) of 13.1 million, up from 13 million last July and down from July 2019’s 14.4 million rate.
July total new-vehicle sales are up 4% year over year, with one more selling day compared to July 2020. The July SAAR came in at 14.8 million, an increase from last year’s 14.7 million but down from July 2019’s 17 million rate.
