Glenn Boglisch, a fleet manager from Windsor Locks, Conn., used his week-long vacation time to drive supplies to the Gulf Coast region devastated by Hurricane Katrina, the Manchester (Conn.) Journal Inquirer reported. Boglisch took time off from South Windsor’s highway department to transport food, blankets, tents and medical supplies to Gulf Port, Miss. The fleet manager made the 3,000-mile round trip loaded with donations from various groups in the state. Total Logistics Services, a bulk mail consolidator and Boglisch’s part-time employer, donated the tractor and 511 gallons of fuel Boglisch needed for the trip, the report said. Now back in Connecticut, Boglisch has another trip back to the region set for Oct. 14. Meanwhile, he is trying to secure more donations for his return.
