According to the company, raising the financial awareness and skills of fleet managers will be the focus of efleetmgmt, inc.'s 2003 Financial Strategies for Today's Fleet Operations Seminar, April 2-4 in Nashville, Tenn. The company says a wide range of workshops will provide hands-on information on the role finance plays in achieving fleet success. Speakers will discuss ways to measure and improve financial performance and communicating that performance with senior management. Workshop topics will include strategies for minimizing fleet costs and maximizing revenue, implementing benchmarking results to improve fleet efficiency and reduce operating costs, and utilizing technology to measure and improve financial performance. Other workshops will explore budgeting and supply chain management techniques. "Evaluating financial alternatives and competitive intelligence are the two most important aspects of fleet management period," said Tony Vercillo, president and CEO of International Fleet Management Consultants and one of the seminar's speakers. Other speakers will be Joe B. Hanna, Ph.D., associate professor of logistics at Auburn University; and R. Patrick White, CTP, former traffic and transportation manager of Coca Cola USA and a principal at WhiteTrans Solutions, Inc.
