Edmunds.com Names 2007 Toyota Tundra Most Significant Vehicle of the Year

Tundra's range of engine sizes, body styles and other equipment appeals to light truck market, could unseat domestic automakers' dominance, according to Edmunds.com.

Edmunds.com has named the 2007 Toyota Tundra as its Most Significant Vehicle of the Year. This award is given annually to a vehicle that, according to the editors at Edmunds.com, significantly changes the rules of a given segment, creates a new niche or redefines an automaker's image. Runners-up were the 2007 Mazda CX-7, 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Past "Most Significant" award winners include the 2006 Pontiac Solstice, 2005 Chrysler 300, 2004 Nissan Titan, 2003 Nissan 350Z, 2002 Mini Cooper, 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser and 2000 Honda Insight. Edmunds.com also announced the winners of its ninth annual "Editors' Most Wanted" vehicle awards. The winners are: Sedan Under $15,000: 2007 Hyundai Accent and 2007 Kia Rio
