Continuing its experiment with the passenger cabin of trucks, Dodge has incorporated sliding rear doors and the Stow 'n Go seating it first introduced on its minivan on the new 2006 Dodge Rampage concept truck, which it unveiled at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show. The Rampage combines the width of a Dodge Ram with the overall length of a Dodge Dakota to create a five-passenger, front-wheel-drive family-friendly pickup truck. The proportions of the cab-forward truck are dramatically reconfigured, with the largest portion of space devoted to the cabin, followed by the 5-foot cargo box. In addition, the Rampage stuffs a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 under the shortened hood. The 345-horsepower Hemi is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Exterior features on Rampage include 22-inch wheels and tires and a "Liquid Carbon" paint job. The right front seat and the 60/40 rear seats can be folded into the floor, marking the first use of Dodge's Stow 'n Go seating in a pickup and the first Stow 'n Go front-passenger seat. Behind the rear seats, the backlight retracts into a Midgate, which folds down into the cargo bed. This enables users of the vehicle to carry longer items without having to lower the tailgate. The rear bumper fascia, which Dodge calls a "second tailgate," also drops down to reveal an enclosed storage space that Dodge says can accommodate a stack of 4-by-8 plywood sheets.
