Whether you're into vintage race cars, boats or RVs -- when you have the ultimate toy, you need the ultimate truck to tow it. Just ask Ron Morgan of south Florida. He saw media coverage of the one-of-a-kind Chevrolet Kodiak pickup truck during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier this year, and decided it was just what he needed to haul his luxury boat. The Kodiak medium-duty pickup is specially upfitted by Monroe Truck Equipment and was built for display at the Detroit auto show. Monroe had announced the truck would be for sale at the conclusion of the auto show, with an MSRP of $120,000. Morgan had the boat trailer custom-built for his truck, right down to the matching tri-coat White Diamond Pearl custom paint. Enhancing the shimmering aspect of the paint is the liberal use of stainless steel (on the tube grille, bed rails, steps to the Crew Cab and cargo box, front and rear wheel covers, and pintle plate cover) and chrome (fuel door, hood latches, front light bar and rear tube bumper). Inside, the Chevrolet Kodiak pickup is finished with a carbon-fiber appearance - applied to the steering wheel, door, dash trim and center console. Also worthy of a standing ovation is the entertainment system. It features an MTX sound system that includes navigation, satellite radio, backup camera and a DVD system with a 10-inch overhead monitor and two 7-inch headrest-mounted monitors. Of course, the Kodiak has plenty of pulling power with its 6.6L Duramax TurboDiesel engine. "We knew that whoever bought this Monroe Truck Equipment-upfitted Kodiak would make quite a statement," said Ross Hendrix, General Motors director for commercial trucks and vans. "I think it's safe to say that Mr. Morgan owns the most extreme ride in the neighborhood."
