Ford has awarded Auto Truck Group ship-through status for the Fusion for fleets setting up the mid-size sedan for commercial use, the upfitter has announced.

Commercial fleets will be given ship-through codes that allow them to purchase and upfit the vehicle, then have it shipped from the upfitter's Kansas City facility to a courtesy Ford dealer. The upfitter will offer one of two ship-through codes available. The ship-through code is 31A D9R.

"The Ford Fusion is a versatile vehicle that many of our customers use for supervisors, sales, and service-oriented positions," said Corey Stanley, senior director of sales. "Auto Truck Group is proud to offer our clients another ship-through solution when these vehicles require corporate branding or other upfit needs."

When fleets order the new Ford Fusion and use the Auto Truck Group ship-through code, the vehicles will be sent directly to Kansas City facility for decals or other upfitting. The vehicles are returned to the factory and entered into Ford’s transportation system that sends them to the dealer.
