The Knapheide Manufacturing Co.’s aluminum gooseneck flatbed body, which debuted at the Work Truck Show, is corrosion-resistant and lightweight, but it’s strong enough to enable maximum payload and towing capacity.

The Knapheide PGNB Aluminum Gooseneck Body features an aerospace technology assembly utilizing military-grade aluminum extrusions. As a result, the body is structurally superior yet 40% lighter than steel. The body includes a gooseneck hitch system that’s rated at 30,000 pounds.

The aluminum construction provides better protection against corrosion, according to the company.

Knapheide also provides aluminum side boards to keep chains, rope, tools, and other objects from sliding off the gooseneck body.

GEN-Y Introduces Torsion Suspension Hitch

Introduced at the Work Truck Show, GEN-Y Hitch’s frame-mounted, bolt-on torsion suspension hitch deals with the up and down of towing as well as the forward inertia.

The Torsion Suspension Hitch is taking the inertia out between truck and trailer by up to 90%, which greatly decreases wear and tear on a vehicle and trailer, according to the company.

It also improves ride quality and decreases driver fatigue.

BOLT Provides One-Key Lock Technology

BOLT’s one-key lock technology is designed to permanently program a lock to the specific vehicle’s ignition key. Created by STRATTEC, a manufacturer of automotive locks and keys, the locks were on exhibit at the Work Truck Show.

The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is coded to only that key, according to the company.

Any number of BOLT locks can be set to open with same vehicle key. Therefore, it eliminates the need to have extra keys or to remember a combination. Lock styles include GM tailgate handle, Jeep hood lock, cable lock, toolbox latch, lock cylinder, coupler pin lock, a padlock 2.0, and 5/8” and 1/2” receiver lock.

This year, BOLT introduced its off-vehicle coupler lock. This secures a trailer when not attached to a tow vehicle.
