Hankook Tire added two new products in its truck and bus radial tire lineup – the AH32 and e3 WiDE DL12. Both tires offer wider contact patches that enable a higher tread volume, enhancing fuel efficiency, safety, and performance for regional and long-haul applications, according to the company.
Currently, AH32 is offered in sizes 385/65R22.5 18PR and 425/65R22.5 20PR, e3 WiDE DL12 in 445/50R22.5 20PR DL12, with more sizes becoming available as the year progresses.
Hankook has incorporated its new “Smart + Technology” manufacturing process, which works to enhance key performance indicators such as multi-surface performance, rolling resistance, and safety.
The AH32, an all-position/all-season tire, was designed with the Innovation Mixing System, which helps strengthen the bonding force between compound materials. The company says the process creates a stronger and more durable compound, one that helps with lower heat generation and improving mileage and fuel efficiency.
The e3 WiDE DL12 is engineered to provide improved traction capabilities throughout the life of the tire with its three-dimensional siping technology, as well as its semi open shoulder design. The tire is EPA Smartway approved, delivering less rolling resistance in order to allow for increased mileage and better fuel efficiency. The e3 WiDE DL12’s new Spiral-Coil Technology helps stabilize the tire’s footprint and casing for better wear and performance, according to the company.
