The Vehicle Docking Station from Gambler-Johnson is designed to hold the new Panasonic Toughbook 54 semi-rugged laptop computer.
The dock accommodates the Toughbook 54 model as well as any model with certain integrated options, including a slot at the bottom to insert a SmartCard, second LAN port, fourth USB 2.0 port, Rugged Fischer USB, VGA port and Serial port. The dock features access areas on the underside for the bottom SmartCard reader allowing a user to insert and eject a SmartCard while the laptop is docked.
The dock features a spring-loaded docking connector that ensures connectivity over rough terrain and a push-button keyed latch to allow a laptop to be easily docked and undocked while at the same time keeping it secure.
The Toughbook 54 Vehicle Docking Station is incorporates the international standard VESA 75 mounting pattern. Gambler-Johnson is incorporating the mounting pattern into their motion attachment product line and other motion attachments will become available when the Toughbook 54 Vehicle Docking Station ships in May of 2015.
The Toughbook 54 Vehicle Docking Station is designed and tested to endure rugged environmental standards and has passed MIL-STD-810G shock/vibration testing and will be crash tested to SAE J1455 Standard. The docking station will be supported with a three-year limited warranty from Gambler-Johnson.
