Ernest Dandridge Carrier Design Services, Inc. of McLean, Virgina, is working with Kentucky Trailer of Louisville on modulated, enclosed car hauling equipment.
The unitized, proprietary equipment can be slid into several rear swing doors, drop frame, electronics trailer vans/moving vans.
The upper decks rise and pivot on any angle or go flat to the trailer floor. Other types of enclosed car haulers have each support post and each hydraulic cylinder permanently built into a trailer as well as the electrical and hydraulic lines permanently plumbed through the trailer. Modules are self-supporting as they are designed to be able to be moved in and out of a trailer or repositioned in a trailer to compliment a trucker’s needs.

The auto transport modules are self-contained with their own battery power hydraulics.

Modules are self-contained with their own battery power hydraulics. A common Class 8 truck tractor as is, can be coupled to a trailer containing modules. Modules can remain permanently in a trailer or just as well be moved out tomorrow or in a future year.
The firm is offering punched-hole upper decking this year. They are also offering long punched-hole flippers for added vehicle parking flexibility.
New landing rollers are in the front of the module. As the module rear end is picked up, the front end noses down onto the rollers to help facilitate movement of a unit in and out of a trailer or be repositioned in the trailer. New rear lifting elements are now offered.

Modules can go into various trailers. The firm can also offer full width platform style upper decks. A full width upper deck can also be used to accommodate small, narrow stance 4 wheel vehicles as well as small 3 wheel vehicles such as ones with 2 front tires and a single rear middle tire. Various types of vehicle securement can be had for lower level vehicles in a trailer.
Module activities were moved to a Winchester, Virginia, shop, which has been in business since 1989 in truck and trailer service work as well as metal fabrication and hydraulics working with both local and various national trucking fleets.
