Hilltip now offers a winter maintenance drop spreader for compact tractors and loaders.
Available in 8- to 18-cubic-foot capacities, the new IceStriker DSB has a self-loading design and can be mounted on the front or back of vehicles.
It can spread salt, sand and fine gravel, making it ideal for use on a variety of applications, including parking lots, courtyards, walkways and pedestrian paths.
The IceStriker DSB is equipped with standard hydraulic motors and traditional controls, with optional 12-volt electric drives. Customers have the flexibility to upgrade to StrikeSmart controls, available with either a hard-wired CAN bus controller or Bluetooth-enabled smartphone controls. These advanced controllers incorporate Hilltip’s exclusive HTrack tracking software, the industry's sole two-way GPRS communication system, enabling unprecedented functionality.
Utilizing the HTrack system, users can establish geofenced work sites, define personalized application rates, oversee drivers, and remotely document all activities through a computer, smartphone, or tablet. This unique technology delivers unparalleled advantages for both winter maintenance business managers and drivers.

Upon entering a jobsite, the StrikeSmart controller recognizes the location via GPS antennae and defaults to customized application rates for that specific site. The spreader then automatically adjusts material feed rates based on travel speed, allowing operators to focus on driving. Additionally, operators can easily monitor and manually adjust spreader settings using the user-friendly controllers.
The IceStriker DSB includes a standard top screen to prevent the entry of rocks and large material chunks into the hopper. Optional features encompass an LED rear light kit and various quick-hook attachments for front loader mounting.
