IMI's Equal Flexx internal balancing compound is designed to improve fuel economy, remove wheel-end vibration and increase tire mileage.

The compound can result in lower rolling resistance, more even wear and a smoother ride, according to IMI. 

Equal Flexx is installed by dropping a pouch into a tire during the mounting process. The pouch breaks open, allowing the balancing compound to disperse and adjust to changes that include tire wear, vehicle load and road conditions.

Equal Flexx reduces tire-related rolling resistance when compared to no balancing method and other balancing methods according to IMI, with fuel economy improvements of 2.5% or more. By reducing wheel-end vibration and solidifying a tire’s footprint, Equal Flexx can also increase tire take-off mileage. This reduces irregular tire wear and creates less wear on the tire.
