East Manufacturing, manufacturer of aluminum flatbed, drop deck, dump, and refuse trailers as well as steel dump trailers and aluminum truck bodies, introduced its new Narrow Spec Dump Trailer, the NST, designed for hauling sand and gravel or commodity loads.

The NST maximizes payload with lighterweight components while still delivering strength and durability to meet the needs of an application, according to the manufacturer. The narrow spec dump trailer provides up to one half ton additional payload compared to a standard aluminum dump trailer. It’s lighterweight when compared to a standard 96-inch wide dump trailer, depending on the options and features. Like all East frameless dump trailers the narrow spec dump, uses only premium aluminum alloys for flooring and side material for long life and durability.

The East smooth-sided Genesis is an aerodynamic design that is easier to clean, and will not show dents from the inside, improving resale value and keeping your trailer looking good. Its 2-inch thick, double-wall extruded aluminum panels are robotically welded together vertically inside and out to provide added strength and resistance to twisting, resulting in long life and durability. This results in the trailers being easier to maintain and repair, delivering maximum return on your investment, East noted.

The ¼-inch-thick rear corner posts on the trailer wrap completely around top and bottom rails and inter-lock to add strength, reducing side-to-side distortion. And, a lighter weight sheet & post tailgate 90-degree wall joints are continuously welded rather than stitch welded to maximize strength-to-weight ratio and joint integrity of the tailgate.

The NST is available with options, including:

• Lift Axles that are both engineered for durability and enhanced performance, East offers a standard lift axle system or automatic lift axle system, developed for varying load operations.

• Coal/Grain Doors are available in 12- and 20-inch widths, East coal/grain doors are equipped with UHMW plastic bearings and grease fittings at the pivot point, providing smooth, easy operation and low maintenance. For precise control flow, each door locks over center with the ability to lock at various positions.

• Zero-Maintenance Damping Suspension (ZMD) air springs are designed to replace the function of a standard shock absorber. The shockless suspension reduces maintenance. The ZMD suspension offers improved ride quality.
