Cotter Pin Solutions’ Anit-Seize Cotter Pin is designed to prevent clevis pin seizing in brakes by holding it stationary, forcing a slack adjuster to rotate around it each time a brake is applied.

The pin is also designed to keep itself from seizing to the inside of the clevis pin holes through tension reflection movement between the cotter pin and the clevis pin holes. Seized clevis pins can cause brake binding and require a hammer or torch to remove which places unwanted stress and heat on the slack adjuster’s internal working parts.

The Anti-Seize Cotter pin is made of stainless steel and is corrosion resistant and reusable. Two part numbers fit all air brake slack adjusters and can be simply installed and is maintenance free, according to Cotter Pin Solutions.
