Some of the best Rush Truck Centers technicians from across North America converged on San Antonio, Texas, for the 19th annual Tech Skills Rodeo last week.
Technicians took online evaluations and the top scoring techs qualified to compete. For most categories, a problem was created in a truck and the technicians had 45 minutes to find and correct the issue. However, the score was not simply based on if they could make the repair within the time limit.
They had to follow the proper diagnostic and repair steps while also explaining to a judge why they performed each step.
Including awards presented to top technicians and winners in sales, leasing, body shop, and parts categories, plus the Rising Stars division winners for new techs, Rush gave away more than $300,000 in prizes.
