Salvation Army's Disaster Relief Van
Originally posted on Automotive Fleet

When fully stocked, the Transit will be able to serve approximately 250 disaster victims and first responders.

This Transit houses a custom-installed two-burner stovetop, microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, freezer, sink and electric hot water heater.

The 2016 extended-wheelbase Transit 350 will respond to emergency scenes, such as house fires or weather-related situations.

The Transit canteen will serve as a disaster response unit as part of The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division Emergency Disaster Services’ canteen fleet.

Janet Lawson (right), director of the Ford Motor Company Fund, hands the keys to Lt. Col. John Turner, divisional commander for The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division.
