Mazda's 2016 CX-3 Compact SUV

Mazda is entering the subcompact SUV market with its 2016 CX-3.

The CX-3 is available in front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrains. This photo shows the FWD model.

Mazda is offering three trim levels, including the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring.

Mazda hosted a press event in Southern California to unveil the vehicle, which goes on sale in August.

All trim levels get the 7-inch color touch screen, and multi-function Commander Control dial.

The CX-3 is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

16-inch wheels are standard on the CX-3. Mazda offers 18-inch wheels.

The CX-3 offers 12.4 cubic inches of cargo capacity with the rear seats up.

Maximum cargo capacity is 44.5 cubic feet.

The interior includes one-, two- or three-tone premium cloth, leatherette or leather interior seating surfaces.
