The Ram 1500 offers up to 2,300 pounds of payload in the four-door Quad Cab configuration, which is a 22% increase compared to the prior genertion model.
The Ram 1500 features a Class III trailer hitch and lighted, above-bumper four- and seven-pin trailer wire connectors. It has a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 lbs.
The Ram 1500 media event included opportunities to drive all Ram 1500 trim levels both on-road and off-road, in addition to trailering opportunities towing a horsetrailer and speed boat.
Using high-strength steels, composites, and aluminum, the 2019 Ram 1500 reduced its weight by nearly 120 pounds frorm the chassis (100 pounds from the frame alone) and nearly 225 pounds overall compared to the predecessor model.
The product demonstration included a presentation on the Ram 1500 cab, which is built of 54% high-strength steel. The new frame is 98% high-strength steel, which improved torsional stiffness.
The Ram 1500 now offers a robust 4x4 Off-Road Package on nearly every trim level. The offering includes hill-descent control, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plate protection, off-road calibrated shocks, tow hooks, and more.
The second row includes slide reclining seats to eight degrees, with a flat load floor with integrated RamBins and tie-down rings. There is expandable under-seat storage.
The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman is available in two cab styles -- Quad Cab and Crew Cab -- and two bed lengths -- 5-foot, 7-inch short bed and a 6-foot, 4- inch long bed.
Ram provided members of the press an opportunity to test drive the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 at a media event in Scottsdale, Ariz. In addition, there were product demonstrations given by Ram subject-matter experts.
A structure was specially constructed for the media event outside Scottsdale for lunch and to act as a jump-off point for off-roading and trailering demonstrations of the Ram 1500 capabilities.
One of the Ram 1500 optional engines is the 5.7L HEMI V-8 with the eTorque mild hybrid, which provides up to an additional 130 lb.-ft. of launch torque.
The Ram 1500 Tradesman is available with three powertrains selections: the standard 3.6L Pentastar V-6 with eTorque mild hybrid system, the optional 5.7L HEMI V-8 eTorque, or optional 5.7L HEMI V-8.
