The ATS is built on a new, lightweight vehicle architecture.

GM said the new ATS is an expression of Cadillac's "Art & Science" design philosophy.

The ATS features an active grille shutter system, which closes shutters on the vehicle at certain speed thresholds to reduce aerodynamic drag.

The new ATS offers Cadillac's new CUE system, which GM said is an "in-vehicle experience that merges intuitive design with auto industry-first controls and commands for information and entertainment data."

The new ATS offers seven interior color and trim combinations.

One of the engine choices on the new ATS, a 2013 2.5L I-4 with direct injection and variable valve timing.
