The International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) will host its 2019 "The Demo Expo" Oct. 1-3, 2019 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky. The biennial event is the utility industry's largest tradeshow and a leading event for utility and construction contractors. It hosts more than 18,000 utility professionals and encompasses more than 30 acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits.

The event features more than 240 product categories and over 200 new exhibitors.

For 2019, the event has a brand-new demo area called the UTV Test Track. This area will allow attendees to drive and compare utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) from Caterpillar, Bobcat, and John Deere. An additional added event is the Networking Concert. Held Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., ICUEE Live! at Fourth Street will be a networking opportunity featuring live music. The event is free to all attendees and features music from The Crashers & Soul Circus.

Additional food options and an expanded exhibit pavilion were also announced this year. A Food Court Patio area will feature food trucks from the Louisville area and will be between the Above Ground Demo Lot and Lift & Haul Demo Lot.

The Emerging Technologies Pavilion and expanded Safety and Fleet Management exhibit pavilions will be featured on the indoor show floor. They will group exhibitors by type, helping attendees more easily locate what's new.

Finally, the educational opportunites have been expanded for 2019.

  • New Disaster Simulation Labs - When disasters and other crises occur, industry workers are often front-line responders. Desi Matel-Anderson, FEMA’s first and former chief innovation advisor, will lead new Disaster Simulation Labs at ICUEE 2019. Matel-Anderson will help attendees explore needs and concepts to create tailored and innovative solutions to meet a variety of crisis needs. She uses a proprietary three-step design process to help organizations understand the core issues and needs that are not being optimally addressed in any given crisis, and become better prepared for sustainable resiliency

  • Expanded Field Classrooms - ICUEE uses ‘"walking" classrooms on the show floor to provide a hands-on overview of topics geared to those new to the industry (or those wanting a refresher). Field Classroom topics include aerial devices, electrical hazards and equipment, equipment hydraulics, fleet management, horizontal directional drilling, safety, trenching, underground detection and marking, and vacuum excavating.

  • New Eat and Learn Workshops - Grab a bite to eat during these learning opportunities at Tuesday lunch, Wednesday breakfast and/or Wednesday lunch sessions. The topics include:

    • Drone Panel: Effective Applications in Utility Industry

    • The Business Model for Building and Maintaining a Smart Utility Infrastructure

    • Workforce Development - Generational Story
