PG&E, in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Energy, will host an EV at the San Francisco International Auto Show on Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
EV models available for test drives include the latest models from BMW, Nissan, Ford Motor Company, General Motors and other major manufacturers. As part of the event, PG&E will also have on display the utility industry’s first plug-in electric hybrid bucket truck, which is capable of powering up to 100 homes during planned and unplanned outages. In fact, PG&E recently deployed these units for the first time to provide emergency power during the Valley and Butte wildfires. PG&E operates the greenest utility fleet in the nation, with nearly 3,500 alternative fuel vehicles.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about State and Federal rebates of up to $10,000 towards the purchase of eligible plug-in electric vehicles. Attendees can also learn about PG&E’s electric vehicle rate plans, which provide charging for $1 per gallon equivalent on one of the nation’s cleanest power supplies.
About the EDI Bucket Truck:
PG&E partnered with Efficient Drivetrains Incorporated (EDI) and Altec Industries to develop the vehicles, which were designed, built and tested in the heart of California at EDI’s plant in Dixon.
The 120kW exportable power capacity is capable of powering 100 homes during power outages
The vehicles feature an all-electric range of up to 40 miles and will reduce emissions by up to 80 percent when compared to conventional fuel vehicles.
The event will be held at Moscone North, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco at the main entrance to the auto show.
