Honda has released full specifications for its 2017 Ridgeline mid-size pickup, including pricing, fuel economy, and capacities for towing and payload.
Honda will offer the significantly redesigned Ridgeline in seven trim models, including RT, RTS, Sport, RTL, RTL-T, RTL-E, and Black Edition. The truck will be offered in front-wheel or all-wheel drive. All Ridgeline trucks will be powered by a V-6 that generates 280 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
As for fuel economy, the front-wheel Ridgeline gets an EPA-rated 26 mpg on the highway, 19 mpg in the city, and 22 mpg combined. The all-wheel Ridgeline gets an EPA-rated 25 mpg on the highway, 18 mpg in the city, and 21 mpg combined.
The RT Ridgeline when equipped with all-wheel drive can carry 1,584 pounds of payload and tow up to 5,000 pounds. The front-wheel truck can carry 1,465 pounds and tow up to 3,500 pounds. These capacities carry over from the 2014 Ridgeline.
The 2017 Ridgeline's towing and payload fall short of the V-6 Chevrolet Colorado, which can tow up to 7,000 pounds and carry 1,590 pounds of payload. It would also fall short of the 2016 Tacoma that can tow 6,800 pounds and haul up to 1,620 pounds.
Pricing for the 2017 front-wheel Ridgeline will start at $30,375 for the RT model, $32,415 for the RTS, $33,915 for the Sport, $34,680 for the RTL, and $36,830 for the RTL-T. All-wheel drive adds $1,800. The AWD-only RTL-E retails for $42,270, while the Black Edition retails for $43,770.
Editor's note: We have corrected an initial error that stated that the Ridgeline would be offered in rear-wheel drive.
