Nextel Communications, Inc. and Dynamic Mobile Data Systems, Inc. announced Jan. 31 a co-marketing agreement to market MobileDispatch, a two-way wireless workforce management solution that enables time-sensitive communications and status tracking for companies dependent upon mobile workforce efficiency. Using Nextel Internet-ready phones, Nextel Wireless Web online services, and the Internet, MobileDispatch enables field personnel to communicate in real-time, virtually eliminating errors by hand-written orders, according to Dynamic Mobile Data.

MobileDispatch can now benefit from the combination of MobileDispatch and Nextel’s nationwide packet data network that provides a fleet management solution. Nextel data customers who already utilize Nextel’s four-in-one technology – digital cellular, Nextel Direct Connect two-way radio service text and numeric paging, and Wireless Web online services may now benefit from DMD’s MobileDispatch, according to the company.

"This latest enhancement to MobileDispatch has the potential to revolutionize the way businesses manage and communicate with their field staff," said Chuck Feldman, DMD’s president and CEO. "Together, our software and Nextel’s Internet-ready phones are providing enterprises with the ultimate information tool – enabling companies and their employees a solution to help optimize and simplify their busy schedules, communications, productivity and customer service."

"Our partnership with Dynamic Mobile Data reinforces Nextel’s commitment to providing wireless business solutions to the transportation industry," said Ernie Cormier, vice president, Enterprise Solutions Group for Nextel. "MobileDispatch will offer Nextel customers another resource available on Nextel’s nationwide packet data network that is cost-effective and efficient."

According to DMD, the personalization capabilities of MobileDispatch are unprecedented on the Nextel National Network and meet a variety of business and user needs. Virtually all field labels are programmable, so the customer gets an "out-of-the-box" solution that is easily configurable for specific job and user functions. In addition to the MobileDispatch service, companies will need a Nextel Internet-ready phone, Nextel Wireless Web online services, a PC running Microsoft Windows, a Web browser and an Internet connection. The application is managed via the DMD Network Operations Center (NOC), which is accessed at www.mobiledispatch.com. Contact Dynamic Mobile Data, or visit www.dmdsys.com for a free demo and pricing.

Recently, DMD announced partnerships with route optimization providers InterGis and Mobile Wireless Technologies (MWT), to provide real-time, wireless routing and scheduling solutions that enable companies to respond to changing business demands. According to DMD, because of these relationships, Nextel customers can now reap the benefits of this seamless integration technology through MobileDispatch.

Dynamic Mobile Data Systems, Inc. (www.dmdsys.com) is a wireless application service provider and developer of wireless business solutions. Founded in 1994, the company designs vertical market mobile computing applications for the mobile data market.
