2002 Acura 3.5 RL Sedan Prices Announced
Acura has announced the arrival of the 2002 3.5 RL luxury sedan in showrooms nationwide. Priced at $43,150, Acura's flagship sedan features an increase in horsepower, a sport-tuned suspension and the addition of the OnStar(R) communications system. A new, more powerful 225 hp, 3.5-liter, V6 engine is mated to a computer-controlled four-speed automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control that automatically holds the proper gear to all but eliminate unnecessary shifts and gear "hunting." The 2002 RL also received subtle enhancements to the exterior including redesigned alloy wheels and select body-colored molding and trim. Inside the RL, the cabin environment boasts standard features including an Acura/Bose(R) music system with six-disc CD changer, an Automatic Climate Control system, a Homelink(TM) system built into the sun visor, and a power moonroof. An additional standard feature of the new 3.5 RL is the OnStar system, an advanced on-board communications system that provides the driver and passengers with access to a wide variety of services, from emergency roadside assistance to route and location guidance and concierge services. OnStar basic service will be provided to RL owners free of charge for the first 12 months, according to company officials. The only factory-installed option for the Acura 3.5 RL is the DVD-based Acura Satellite Linked Navigation System. The system provides mapping of the continental U.S., and stores 3.7 million points of interest on a single digital versatile disc (DVD) through a 7-inch color LCD display.
