ALORTON, IL – An Illinois-American Water Co. had his truck stolen while on the job. The employee was out of his work truck performing a routine meter reading in the John DeShields housing complex when it was stolen, according to the News-Democrat.

Two men jumped in the vehicle and went for a ride, according to Fred Ruckman, director of field operations for Illinois-American. In the end, the truck was recovered and not damaged.

The truck was stolen about 8:24 a.m. and recovered by 9 a.m. in Alorton. One of the two suspects was arrested, the other ran. Police are still searching for the second suspect.
