JLG has released the SkyGuard SkyLine enhanced control panel protection system, which now comes standard on all of its North American boom lifts. The system was designed from customer feedback based on the SkyGuard system first released in 2012.

SkyGuard SkyLine features a slim-wire rope design that is bolted to the left side of the platform with an opposing magnetic connection. If the operator contacts the cable and the magnet detaches, the system stops all boom lift functions and momentarily reverses or undoes most functions that were in use when the system was activated. This reverse functionality was present in the 2012 version of the system.

Between November 2018 and early 2019, SkyGuard SkyLine will be phased into most boom lift models as a standard feature. Fleets that prefer the original bar-style SkyGuard can still opt for the old system.
