East Point Power Power Department, a utility located in East Point, Ga., which includes line operation, tree trimming, and systems control, recently received approval from the City Council to lease eight trucks over the next five years. 

According to a city report, the lease includes one 40-foot bucket trucks, two 47-foot derrick trucks, and five 55-foot bucket trucks. 

A city action item noted the total cost to be just more than $1.54 million over the five-year lease purchase period or around $332,876 per year.

According to East Point Power, the current fleet vehicles consist of six 2002 models and two 2007 models, and fleet has been making constant repairs, spending anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 when the trucks break down.
