DIAMOND BAR, CA - The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has funded $20.4 million for the Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP), aimed at accelerating California deployment of new hybrid medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.  The HVIP will provide vouchers of $10,000 to $45,000 on a first-come, first-served basis for purchase of each eligible new hybrid truck or bus.

The program is open to all dealers who sell hybrid medium- and heavy-duty trucks or buses in the state of California and all fleets who operate in the state.  To assist dealers and fleets, CALSTART, the program administrator, is conducting four on-site training workshops throughout the state (Sacramento, San Francisco, Fresno, and Los Angeles) and two webinars in the first three weeks of January.  This notice is for the Southern California on-site only; notices for other workshops will follow.

Dealers who wish to participate in the program MUST complete a training workshop to learn and understand the program terms and conditions as well as roles and responsibilities of dealers, fleets, CARB and CALSTART.  Fleets are encouraged to attend to learn more about the program, although fleets do not have to complete a training workshop to participate in the HVIP.  We look forward to seeing you there!

RSVP to Susan Romeo via e-mail sromeo@calstart.org with COMPLETE contact information - your name, name of dealership or fleet, address, phone and e-mail address by January 8, 2010.  Or call (626) 744-5600.

Note:  CALSTART offices will be closed from December 24, 2009 - January 3, 2010.
