Chrysler Group announced it has been named one of the 50 "Best
Companies for Working Hispanic Women," according to Latina Style magazine's
fifth annual corporate poll of best places to work.
This is the fourth year Chrysler Group has been named to the list.
Latina Style's national listing is the result of research involving more
than 600 of the most respected corporations in the U.S. The Latina Style
"Top 50" is the only poll evaluating corporate America's responsiveness to
the needs and aspirations of the modern Hispanic working woman.
"Chrysler Group has always worked hard to find ways to enhance the value of
our enterprise by creating an inclusive environment that encourages and
values teamwork and inspires all employees to work with passion and
enthusiasm," said Nancy Rae, senior vice president - Human Resources. "We
realize that a diverse workforce contributes to a fulfilling work
experience."
Companies participating in the poll were evaluated on issues identified as
the most important within the workplace by Latina Style's readers. A few
of those areas included: number of Latina executives; mentoring programs;
Latinas on board of directors; educational opportunities;
dependent/child-care support; childbirth/family leave; alternative work
policies; benefits; women's issues; and Hispanic relations.
Chrysler Group recently added Steve Rojas, owner of Fullerton Dodge in
California, as an outside advisor to its enterprise-wide Diversity Council.
Rojas has been recognized for his entrepreneurial success within the
Hispanic community and was past president of the DaimlerChrysler Minority
Dealer Association.
Chrysler Group says its Diversity Council is comprised of many of its top
officers. The role of the Council is to lead the business case for
diversity while ensuring an inclusive environment. The Council also works
to leverage diversity as a fundamental business strategy.
The Latina Style award was recently presented at a ceremony in Washington,
D.C.
