Bill Sweatman has announced his retirement as president and chief executive officer of Marangoni Tread North America, effective May 1, after more than 18 years with the retread supplier and distributor.
He is being succeeded by Clif Armstrong, formerly the company’s vice president, business development. Armstrong brings over 35 years of industry experience to the role, serving in multiple executive management positions in sales, marketing, operations, and company-oowned commercial store networks.
“While working for another company several years ago, I managed a project and got to see firsthand the Ringtread product,” said Armstrong. “I came away from that experience in awe of the Ringtread concept and its performance achievements. I am excited about this opportunity to lead this great organization.”
Sweatman started in the tire industry in 1977 and the retreading industry in 1984. He moved to Marangoni in 2002.
“The industry has been very good for me and my family and I would like to thank the employers, peers, customers, suppliers, and friends for this experience and I wish all well,” said Sweatman.
