Motorola, Inc. and the Chicago Area Clean Cities
Coalition announced May 28 that they are co-sponsoring a Green Car Exposition June 3, 5 and 6
at several Motorola campuses to showcase alternative fuel vehicles
(AFVs), advanced technology hybrid vehicles, and low emissions
vehicles.
The exposition will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the
following dates and campuses:
Monday, June 3, 2002, at Motorola's Arlington Heights campus, 1475 W. Shure Dr.
Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Motorola's Schaumburg campus, 1301 E. Algonquin Rd.
Thursday, June 6, 2002 at Motorola's Northbrook campus, 4000 Commercial Ave. The companies say the Green Car Expo will showcase AFVs, advanced technology hybrid vehicles, and low emissions vehicles from Daimler-Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, and Toyota. Representatives from the auto manufacturers will showcase "green" vehicles, which are available in the Chicago area. Vehicles powered by ethanol, propane, hybrid electric and natural gas will be on exhibit. The Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition will provide information at the expo about financial incentives (tax incentives, rebates, etc.) and fueling options in the area. Motorola is a member of the Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition. The expo will take place in the parking lot at each of the designated Motorola campuses. About the Clean Cities Coalition Sponsored in over 80 cities nationwide by the U.S. Department of Energy, Clean Cities says it provides a framework for increasing the percentage of AFVs in urban areas. Cities form an alliance with local industries and work to create refueling infrastructure, build market demand and transfer and improve technology for AFVs. About the Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition (CACC) CACC consists of over 200 Chicago area stakeholders representing federal, state, and local governments, corporations and small businesses, universities, and non-profit organizations. Since alternative fuels have economic advantages, especially with lower fuel costs and government incentives, the Chicago area has experienced significant growth in the domestic fuels market.
